'A dangerous man who should never be freed'.DOREEN Soulsby has slammed the British justice system which currently does not list Steven Ling on the Sexual Offenders' Register. The judgment of the Royal Courts of Justice included admissions made by Ling to the police, that he had "sexual intercourse sexual intercourse or coitus or copulation Act in which the male reproductive organ enters the female reproductive tract (see reproductive system). without consent" and that he "wanted to kill himself because he had raped her". In her victim statement submitted to the hearing last month, Doreen said: "It terrifies me to think that Steven Ling could be released at all, never mind early. "His sentence does not include raping Joanne which he admitted to and, as he said, was the reason he had to kill her. "He was charged with rape but at the trial the judge agreed with the defence that it would be an abuse of court process to allow the prosecution to pursue the rape charge and stopped the trial. "The result is that Ling isn't on the Sex Offenders' Register even though it was a calculated, sexually motivated murder. "All the things he did to Joanne's body both before and after death, and in the sequence he did them, came out of his own head which led to him being profiled as a piquerist (a person who finds sexual gratification through penetration of another person, most commonly by stabbing or cutting the body with sharp objects). "He was also examined by three psy-chiatristand is not insane. We as people are born with our individual characteristics and traits which manifest themselves in our lives and, as we get older, are more obvious and pronounced. "Steven Ling is a very dangerous man and should never be released as he could be socialising with women in society and would be a huge risk of re-offending with rape and masochistic mas·och·ism n. 1.
