NEWHALL - Santa Clarita's two community theaters both will present versions of Charles Dickens' ``A Christmas Carol'' this holiday season, with the Canyon Theatre Guild Theatre Guild

U.S. theatrical society. Founded in New York City in 1918 by Lawrence Langner (1890–1962) and others, the group proposed to produce high-quality, noncommercial plays.
 offering the classic version and the Repertory East Playhouse offering a comedic twist on the holiday favorite.

The story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his change of heart in ``A Christmas Carol,'' will be presented by the Theatre Guild from Nov. 25 through Dec. 22.

Under the direction of Greg and Patti Finley, with assistance from Jim Robinson, the cast of ``A Christmas Carol'' will feature Michael Davies as Scrooge. The three ghostly spirits who visit him are Jeannie Jones Johnson as the Ghost of Christmas Past Ghost of Christmas Past

``A Christmas Carol'' will be presented at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11 and 18 at the guild, 24242 San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the , Newhall. In a festive mood, the F.A.H.E.T.G.D.S D.S Drainage Structure (flood protection) . ladies decide to mount yet another assault on the classics with their stage version of ``A Christmas Carol,'' organized under the battling leadership of Thelma, played by Christina Rideout, and Mrs. Reece, played by Barbara Huntington.

``This show gives a much-needed break from the conventional view of 'A Christmas Carol,''' said Ovington Michael Owston, The REP's co-producing artistic director. ``It's a great show for the whole family.''

``The Farndale ... Christmas Carol'' is directed by Jymn Magon. Supporting cast members include Erin Rivlin-Sakata as accident-prone Mercedes; Andrea Evers as the ingenue in·gé·nue also in·ge·nue
