' Vajpayee wanted to build temple in Ayodhya'.

) general secretary Vinay Katiyar Vinay Katiyar is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician for the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. He was the de facto founder of the Bajrang Dal and its first president. He held this post when the Babri mosque was demolished on December 6, 1992.  has indicated that it was actually the other way round.

Katiyar said in Etah on Saturday that Vajpayee had fixed a date to start construction of the Ram temple but some " insiders" prevented him because they didn't want Vajpayee to take credit for it.

" They feared that Vajpayee would emerge as a hero of the Ram temple," Katiyar said.
