''Top Washington Lawyer'' Bertram Joins Winston & Strawn.


WASHINGTON -- Connie N. Bertram, who in the past year has been named a "leading lawyer" by The Legal Times, one of Washington's "best lawyers" by Washingtonian and an "employment law young gun" by Washington Business Journal, recently joined Winston & Strawn LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  as a partner in its Labor and Employment group.

Bertram and Exposito join from Venable, where Bertram held several leadership positions.

Bertram has represented numerous clients in both jury and bench trials. She won a favorable decision for a client in the first federal decision in the country addressing bodily injury liability for mold exposure, and has secured a significant number of favorable defense verdicts for major employers.

A frequent speaker, Bertram has delivered numerous speeches to the D.C. bar, and as part of Georgetown University's Views from the Bench: Employment Litigation conference. Additionally, she is a popular speaker and panelist with several industry conference services. Bertram has held several leadership roles in both the D.C. and Virginia Bar Associations, and was an adjunct professor at George Washington National Law Center. She is also an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Bertram graduated from George Washington School of Law, with honors, where she was on the editorial board of The George Washington Journal of International Law and Economics. She holds a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary Noun 1. William and Mary - joint monarchs of England; William III and Mary II .

Patti Exposito focuses her labor and employment practice on defending employers in federal, state and administrative tribunals, and in disputes arising from employee confidentiality agreements. She also counsels clients on employment decisions and compliance issues, and in the development of policies, procedures and strategies. Before entering private practice, Exposito served as a judicial clerk for the honorable Judge Howard S. Chasanow on the Maryland Court of Appeals The Maryland Court of Appeals is the supreme court of the U.S. state of Maryland.
