''Super Bowl'' of Operations Research Coming to Miami: May 1 - May 2; International Executives Converge at Miami's Hotel InterContinental to Learn How to Make Better Business Decisions.HANOVER, Md. -- This weekend top executives from across the country will descend upon Miami, but they won't be going to the beach. Top leaders from companies like Boeing, Amazon.com, Travelocity, UPS, Proctor & Gamble and IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. It began during World War II in Britain when teams of scientists worked with the Royal Air Force to improve radar detection of and the Management Sciences' (INFORMS(R)) 2006 Franz Edelman Award competition. Each year, the Franz Edelman competition recognizes outstanding examples of Operations Research (O.R.)-based projects that have transformed companies, entire industries and people's lives.
