''Single in the City'' - The Single Gourmet and the Boston Center for Adult Education Launch a New Series of Social and Educational Events for Single Men and Women Living Their Lives to the Fullest.


BOSTON -- Singles make up 25% of the population and as their numbers grow, they are becoming a significant cultural and economic force. The Single Gourmet and the Boston Center for Adult Education adult education, extension of educational opportunities to those adults beyond the age of general public education who feel a need for further training of any sort, also known as continuing education.

Contemporary adult education can take many different forms.
 kick-off a new series of events exploring the issues that are on the minds of today's singles.

On Thursday, January 26th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm "Single in the City" presents Traveling Solo. Don't be afraid to go it alone! Get practical tips about what to see, how to find great places to stay and eat. Discover how to plan and research a trip that perfectly suits your unique lifestyle. Classes are held at the historic Gamble Mansion at 5 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston.

Whether you're new to Boston, newly single, or just looking for a way to jump-start your social life, the Single Gourmet provides an elegant alternative to the dating and bar scene.

The Single Gourmet is Boston's premier social membership club for professional men and women looking to socialize with other singles. Single Gourmet provides your entree into a fun-filled world of fine dining, social activities and travel - all of which are scheduled and pre-arranged with a gracious host always present to provide introductions.

At Single Gourmet events you can comfortably arrive alone, be assured of a warm welcome and immediately feel a part of the party. Single Gourmet members are typically some of Boston's most successful professional men and women, who can at our events enjoy the rare luxury of just being themselves, free from the pressures of their daily roles and lives.

Our members range in age from 30's through 60's and reflect a sophisticated yet unpretentious style. We like to think of ourselves as being more about attitude than age.

Founded in 1933, the Boston Center for Adult Education is the oldest non-profit adult education center in New England. Our mission is to provide educational opportunities for adults that foster personal and professional development, enhance a sense of community and encourage social responsibility.
