''Life is a Cabaret'' at 19th Annual Auction of Washington Wines; Tickets on Sale Now for Picnic with the Winemakers, Winemaker Dinners and Gala Auction.


SEATTLE -- The Auction of Washington Wines takes center stage at Chateau Ste. Michelle The Chateau Ste. Michelle is a Washington winery in Woodinville, Washington. They are noted for their bestselling Riesling (as the largest single producer of Riesling in the world), but produce wines of many classic varietals and some experimental wines on a per-year basis. Ste.  in Woodinville, Wash. August 17-19, showcasing more than 175 Washington wineries, incredible auction lots, gourmet food and entertainment. Now in its 19th year, the Washington wine industry's premier philanthropic event has raised more than $15 million for Uncompensated Care uncompensated care,
n health care services provided by a hospital, physician, dental professional, or other health care professional for which no charge is made and for which no payment is expected.
 at Children's Hospital A children's hospital is a hospital which offers its services exclusively to children. In 2006, the Auction of Washington Wines presents "Chateau Cabaret," a weekend celebration of Washington wine in three acts. Show-stopping auction lots include: hand etched, six-liter bottles of Quilceda Creek's "100-point" 2002 and 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Cab·er·net Sauvignon

In 2000, DeLille won the New York Times's Wine Today. , Leonetti Cellar, Matthews Cellars and Pepper Bridge Winery, and bid to win future cases of the wines, created uniquely for Picnic.

Each year, Washington wine industry leaders elect two honorary chairs to the Auction of Washington Wines. This year, the industry recognizes Honorary Grower Chair Paul Champoux of Champoux Vineyards LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

Act I: PICNIC WITH THE WINEMAKERS, Thursday, August 17

5 p.m. until dusk - Chateau Ste. Michelle, Woodinville, Wash.

, gourmet delicacies prepared by Whole Foods Market, live music by Paul Gregutt & Friends, a silent auction featuring 100 fabulous lots and guest emcee John Curley of KING5 TV's Evening Magazine. Guests are encouraged to get in the summer spirit and B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Blanket) to compete for recognition as the "best picnic spread" at the event. Guests will also enjoy a live barrel making demonstration by a skilled cooper. Tickets are $125 per person.

Act II: WINEMAKER DINNERS, Friday, August 18

6:30 p.m. - Various Seattle-area locations

Sit back and enjoy the culinary show as Washington winemakers join up with guest chefs at select winery locations and private homes in the greater Seattle-area. Each intimate dinner will match Washington winemakers with a guest chef for an exquisitely paired gourmet meal. Participants include Andrew Will Winery, Leonetti Cellar, Quilceda Creek Winery, Chef John Neumark of Serafina, Chef Jason Wilson of Crush and Chef Steve Cain of Waterfront Seafood Grill, among others. Tickets are $225 per person.

Act III: GALA AUCTION, Saturday, August 19:

4:30 p.m. until midnight - Chateau Ste. Michelle, Woodinville, Wash.

Held under an elegant white tent at Chateau Ste. Michelle, the star-studded 19th annual black-tie Gala Auction will delight the senses with rich decor, fabulous food, a wide array of Washington wines and exciting auction lots. As guests enter the tent, they will get into the cabaret swing with the Brian Nova Orchestra in anticipation of the live auction conducted by charity auctioneers Dick and Sharon Friel. For the 13th year in a row, Charles Ramseyer, Executive Chef of Ray's Boathouse, Cafe & Catering, and John Sarich, Culinary Director of Chateau Ste. Michelle, will lead a talented team of Northwest culinary professionals, including Tamara Murphy of Brasa, Ethan Stowell of Union and Fernando Divina of Cave B Inn at SageCliffe, to prepare a multi-course gourmet feast. Tickets are $500 per person.

These academic institutions began a collaborative effort in 2001 to create quality enological education programs that graduate students with the skills necessary to further Washington's growing wine industry.
