WHAT: Recent terrorist events, outbreaks of SARS and Foot and
Mouth Disease and reports of an impending flu pandemic has
prompted The Fraunhofer USA's Center for Molecular
Biotechnology (CMB) (www.fraunhofer-cmb.org) in Newark,
Delaware, to host a day long conference.
"Innovations in Mitigating BioThreats" will bring together
leading scientists from around the world, government
decision makers and academia to update each other on
advances and issues relating to Homeland Security,
bio-terrorism, general health and agricultural threats.
In addition to defining threats to public health and
biodefense, the Conference will explore technologies and
business strategies that would expedite delivery of
critical public protection products, especially the
impending flu pandemic.
WHO: Representatives from public health agencies will give
presentations with another 100+ leaders in science in
attendance.
