"Ewaste Eddie was created to partner with and help consumer electronics manufacturers, electronics retailers, business, municipalities, government agencies, educational institutions, environmental groups, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local jurisdictions, waste haulers, e-waste recyclers, and nonprofits to inform the public on ewaste awareness through outreach and education. Ewaste Eddie's was also created to change consumer behavior through social marketing to increase electronics reuse, reduce ewaste, recycle electronics and to buy electronics with recycled components through public awareness and education," said Al Chaney, a retired solid waste specialist formally with the California Environmental Protection Agency The California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) was created in 1991 by Governor Pete Wilson, through an executive order.[1] The agency combined six board, departments, and offices into one cabinet-level office:[2]
