When Dick Clark rings in the New Year for the 29th consecutive time from Times Square in New York, he's certainly hoping the weather will be mild because the ABC Television Network has added two full hours to "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve(R)," which will now total three and one-half hours. For the first time ever, coverage of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" will begin in prime-time. The special is a presentation of dick clark productions, inc. (Nasdaq: DCPI).

"We are very excited by the expansion of our New Year's special," said Clark, who not only hosts but also serves as its Executive Producer. "It gives us the opportunity to present many more musical performances and to bring some elements to the show that we have never featured."

Clark's special traditionally out-rates all other network shows for the night. His millennial appearance achieved the highest ratings ever for the "countdown to midnight."

During the special's prime-time hour, Clark will be in his usual Times Square post, but for the first time will be joined by correspondents covering the activities on the streets of New York. Performances will be featured from Disney World in Florida. Additionally, Clark will introduce performances from some of contemporary music's biggest tours of the past year.

From 11:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., the special will mirror past years with Clark counting down the final minutes to the New Year, while celebrity hosts in Los Angeles introduce musical performances by some of today's hottest artists. The following hour, the party from Hollywood continues with performances by additional artists.
