`Wolfman' not guilty of 6 of 7 charges.

 - A jury this week found Rutland's so-called Wolfman not guilty on six of seven charges related to allegations of trespassing, public drinking and breaking in to a vehicle.

Don T. Bornholz, 56, was arrested in October, seven months after being found not guilty of open and gross lewdness Behavior that is deemed morally impure or unacceptable in a sexual sense; open and public indecency tending to corrupt the morals of the community; gross or wanton indecency in sexual relations.

The charges came after a Rutland resident told police Mr. Bornholz had gone into a car on Maple Street.

Police got a warrant for his arrest and he was found when another resident called police to report Mr. Bornholz had passed through a gate and onto town property near Skyline Drive.

Court documents indicate he was found sitting in the street, drinking a beer, just before he was taken into custody.

A jury found Mr. Bornholz guilty Wednesday on one count of trespassing and he was sentenced to 30 days in the Worcester County House of Correction house of correction

The statutory violation charge was dismissed before trial, and the jury found Mr. Bornholz not guilty on the other charges.

Mr. Bornholz is known locally as the Wolfman, a nickname he got after neighbors alleged that he often howled at the moon when he lived on Prescott Street in Rutland.

Mr. Bornholz was sentenced to two years in jail in September 2006 after being convicted of open and gross lewdness. In that case, he was accused of shouting profanities at a neighbor, then dropping his pants and exposing himself to the man and his 9-year-old son.
