The couple, who wed in the ultimate blind-date ceremony in Birmingham yesterday, were jetting to the Bahamas today for an all expenses-paid honeymoon.

At Birmingham's exclusive Hyatt Hotel, the pair said they planned to prove the critics wrong.

Carla, aged 23, said: ``We are really going to make a go of it. We cannot say whether it is going to work, but we are going to put 110 per cent into making a go of it. Hopefully we will go on to love each other.''

They were pleased with the match made by a panel of relationship counsellors and astrologers
