Traveling production

Monday through Wednesday

``Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'' opens at 8 p.m. Monday for a three-day run at the Hult Center, Seventh Avenue and Willamette Street.

The traveling show continues at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tickets are $27.50 to $47.50. Call 682-5000.

The Sound of Music

Cottage Theatre

Friday through Dec. 17

"The Sound of Music" opens Friday at Cottage Theatre, 700 Village Drive, Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). .

The musical tale of the Trapp Family Trapp family

Austrian singers. Maria Augusta Kutschera (1905–87), the family's best-known member, was an orphan and novitiate in a Benedictine convent in Salzburg.
 Singers and their flight from the Nazis won eight Tonys in its Broadway run.

Cottage Theatre's production features Jessica Rossi as Maria and Phil Dempsey as Captain von Trapp Von Trapp could refer to:
  • Georg Ritter von Trapp and Maria von Trapp of the Trapp family (see The Sound of Music)
  • The von Trapp Children, great-grandchildren of Georg and Maria von Trapp
  • Renata von Trapp, a fictional opera singer portrayed by Jennifer Saunders

The show runs at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 17. Tickets are $19 ($17 for students and seniors); call 942-8001 or go to www.cottagetheatre.org.
