`TERMINATOR 3' PIX TERMINATED.

Byline: Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith

Can you picture Arnold Schwarzenegger Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (German pronunciation (IPA): [ˈaɐ̯nɔlt ˈaloɪ̯s ˈʃvaɐ̯ʦənˌʔɛɡɐ]  making like Charlton Heston in a fresh version of ``Planet of the Apes''? Well, picture it.

We get word that James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment is shifting its Arnold energies from ``Terminator 3'' to a new ``Planet of the Apes.'' In other words Adv. 1. in other words - otherwise stated; "in other words, we are broke"

The company does not control rights to ``Terminator'' (they wound up being auctioned off in the wake of Carolco Pictures' folding). Estimates have it that it could cost as much as $100 million to regain rights - and pay Schwarzenegger his salary. And that $100 million, tacked onto the cost of actually making ``Terminator 3,'' is considered just too out of sight. Even for James Cameron

.

Meanwhile, enthusiasm for a new ``Apes'' is evidently growing. And he has open time for it. There's nothing confirmed on Schwarzenegger's schedule beyond his next picture, ``End of Days,'' which starts production in late October.

On another front, it also appears Lightstorm is poised to let go of ``Spider-Man,'' despite the fact Cameron wrote a script for his prospective movie based on the famous comic book comic book

Meanwhile, Beau is getting ready to leave for Montreal to star in the A&E miniseries about P.T. Barnum. He's also awaiting a green light for a fourth installment of ``The Defenders'' films he's doing for Showtime. On the personal side

Catherine Hicks, who plays the mother figure on the WB series ``7th Heaven,'' takes her real-life role as the mother of a 6-year-old daughter very seriously. She devoted her three-month spring hiatus from the series to getting to know little Catie's schoolmates and forming a bond with their mothers. Sometimes, when she gets an unexpected break from the series, she will drive over to Catie's school ``just to wave at her through the window - to let her know I'm thinking of her.'' And now that Catie is starting to play soccer, Catherine's requested that the producers work out her schedule so that she can be there for Catie's games. Still, she says, she's nothing like her TV alter ego A doctrine used by the courts to ignore the corporate status of a group of stockholders, officers, and directors of a corporation in reference to their limited liability so that they may be held personally liable for their actions when they have acted fraudulently or unjustly or when , whom she terms a ``super mom.'' The wife of director Kevin Yagher notes, ``Annie's got five children, and twins on the way, and yet she's always in control. I can't even tell my daughter to go to bed with any authority. People who know me and see the show tell me I act the part very well.''
