More than 1,500 lives were lost. ." On its way to reaching this landmark number, "The Phantom Menace" has broken nearly every box-office record, including: highest opening day and highest single-day box office of all time; top opening 5-day figure; best non-holiday weekend gross; and reaching $100 million, $200 million and $300 million faster than any film in history. With "The Phantom Menace," Lucasfilm is now responsible for four of the top 10 grossing films of all time, including the three previous "Star Wars" pictures. Adding "Titanic" and "Independence Day," Fox has released or produced six of the top 10. Commented Sherak: "This has been an incredible ride for all of us here at Fox.
