`SOBER GRADUATION' LAUNCHED; CAMPAIGN CRACKS DOWN ON UNDERAGE DRINKING, DRUNK DRIVING.

Byline: Greg Botonis Daily News Staff Writer

Trying to cut underage drinking at high school graduation time, sheriff's deputies will crack down on parties where alcohol is served and conduct undercover sting operations aimed at stores that sell alcohol to minors.

State, city and law enforcement officials announced Wednesday that they have joined forces to combat underage drinking and drunk driving with an aggressive Sober Graduation campaign throughout the month of June symbolized by a gold ribbon.

``Every year our schools lose students to alcohol-related accidents,'' said Lt. Terry Judge, acting commander of the Palmdale sheriff's station. ``This year we are just making a very concerted effort to remove all drunk drivers from the road.''

At a news conference Wednesday at the Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County.

The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale
