`Pizza' delivery man guilty in cocaine case.

Matthew Leonard, 29, of 18 Glen Echo Shore Road, Charlton, faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 5 years on charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Also arrested in the raid that day were Jean Colon, 29, of 2 Preston St., who pleaded guilty Oct.1 to the same charges plus distribution of cocaine; Alexander Sanchez, 34, of 33 Coral St., and Eric Gonzalez, 33, of 128 Beacon St., who also were indicted INDICTED, practice. When a man is accused by a bill of indictment preferred by a grand jury, he is said to be indicted. . A cooperating witness arranged to buy an ounce of cocaine for $850 on Sept. 14, 2007, from Mr. Colon and Mr. Sanchez, according to the affidavit of DEA DEA - Data Encryption Algorithm  Special Agent Michael J. Devlin Michael John Devlin (born November 29, 1965) is an American from Kirkwood, Missouri. He is best known for his confessed kidnapping of two boys, Shawn Hornbeck and Ben Ownby. .

Subsequently the cooperating witness, who helped the DEA because he was seeking a reduced sentence for pending drug charges against him, negotiated with Mr. Colon for delivery of 5 kilograms of cocaine at $28,500 per kilogram, according to Mr. Devlin.

On Oct. 10 Mr. Colon, Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Cordova met the cooperating witness and an undercover agent at the Greendale Mall, and Mr. Sanchez took the cooperating witness to his apartment, where Mr. Gonzalez was waiting, according to the affidavit.

Mr. Leonard arrived with 3 kilograms of cocaine in a pizza box and the DEA sprang its raid. Agents also found $59,600 in a combination safe in the second-floor apartment and another kilogram of cocaine in Mr. Leonard's 2007 Ford Focus, parked nearby, according to court documents.

Yesterday, Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV set sentencing for Jan. 26 and ordered Mr. Leonard held in custody until then. Assistant U.S. Attorney David H. Hennessy was the prosecutor, while Mark W. Shea of Cambridge defended Mr. Leonard.
