`OLD COWBOY' SUSPECT CAPTURED AFTER CHASE : PATROL CARS RAMMED, SIDESWIPED IN PURSUIT.

Police captured a man believed to be the ``Old Cowboy Bandit bandit: see brigandage. ,'' after the suspect led officers on a wild chase Friday through Pacoima, sideswiping a patrol car and ramming another, officials said.

Dale Sullivan, 45, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Assault with a Deadly Weapon is the term used to describe the act of threatening to harm one or more people by using a weapon (usually a firearm). Broadcast live on television, the dramatic chase ended shortly after noon, when Sullivan tried to escape on foot but was tackled by police.

Sullivan was treated at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is a hospital in Mission Hills, California, USA. The hospital has 254 beds, and is part of Providence Health & Services. History  in Mission Hills for what police said were mostly injuries he suffered when he rammed a patrol car.

On Friday, police said they found in Sullivan's car a cowboy hat and jacket matching those used in holdups.

The 10-minute pursuit began when an officer from LAPD's Foothill Division spotted a car in an alley in Arleta near the junction of Osborne Street and Beachy Avenue. A check of the license plate revealed that it was from another vehicle, police said.

When the man saw the officer, he fled.

During the course of the chase through Arleta and Pacoima, the suspect rammed a patrol car and sideswiped another, before two officers pinned his car between a wall and the corner at Gager gag·er

``He holds up small businesses, usually operated by women and have women customers,'' Johansen said.

During a dozen or so robberies in the West Valley and Devonshire divisions, the ``Old Cowboy'' has used an 8-inch knife or pretended to have a weapon to hold up convenience stores The following is a list of convenience stores organized by geographical location. He was linked to a robbery 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Victory Boulevard and Fallbrook Avenue at Fantastic Sam's hair cutting salon, when he approached with what appeared to be a firearm in his waistband.

``At one point he took that firearm out and displayed it - that's the first time he has actually taken it out of his waistband,'' Johansen said. The man got away with about $10 in quarters, Johansen said.
