UCSC Extension offers a weekend seminar, "New Intelligence for New Times: The HeartMath Solution," co-sponsored with the Institute of HeartMath.

The seminar features an overview of the HeartMath System and a presentation of groundbreaking scientific research and techniques whereby participants learn how the heart and mind can work together to create maximum well-being, on November 4-5 at UCSC Extension, 1180 Bordeaux Drive in Sunnyvale. UCSC Extension's HeartMath two-day program offers participants a choice of five group sessions including Organizational Transformation and Business Applications; Medical Health; Mental and Emotional Health; Child Development and Education; Self-awareness and Spiritual Growth to experience tools specifically designed for these fields.

According to Robert A. Rees, director of education and humanities at the Institute of HeartMath, the HeartMath Solution program is designed to enhance both individual and organizational effectiveness, achieve and sustain high performance and provide solutions to professional challenges while retaining personal balance through direct, hands-on application of HeartMath techniques. The HeartMath organization was founded by innovative researcher and author Doc Childre, a longtime expert on HeartMath methodology.
