`MONSTERFEST' ON AMC RESURRECTS CREEPIEST FLICKS.

Byline: - Carol Bidwell

If you just can't wait until Halloween to be scared to death, grab the remote and tune in to a week of 25 monster and horror movies on American Movie Classics starting Monday and continuing through Nov. 1.

AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) See AdvancedTCA.  also has produced two special TV shows - one exploring why we love movie monsters and scary movies, the other visiting ``haunted'' Hollywood sites - that will air during ``Monsterfest: House of Horrors'' week.

The weeklong screamfest will be hosted by Tim Burton, director/producer/writer of films that included ``13 Ghosts'' and ``Haunted Palace,'' two of the movies that will be shown during the week.

At 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jack Palance, one of many ex-screen Draculas, will host ``Monstermania,'' an hourlong production that traces the history of our love affair with monsters, from the Gothic pages of Mary Shelley and Bram Stoker and their silent screen incarnations to the classic films of the 1930s and '40s and more modern horror flicks like ``The Addams Family Addams Family
