``I'm doing it for fun,'' Kristine said.

She said she looks forward to the show's stars, Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and Prince Eric, offering her and others a few last-minute pointers on the ice.

Like Bashara, 4-year-old Song King of West Hills spent Tuesday watching ``The Little Mermaid'' movie and took some spins on the ice at the Iceoplex in North Hills to prep herself for the interpretive skate that begins at 10 a.m. today.

``I'm trying to make a program to all the music,'' said King, dressed in a pink sequined se·quin

The two other participants from the San Fernando Valley include Alyssa Rose Fernandez, 5, of Tujunga and Roxette Howe, 6, of Studio City.

``It's not a high-pressure competition. It gives them a chance to have fun,'' said Aileen Stein, publicist for Feld Entertainment, the production company for ``Disney On Ice: The Little Mermaid.''

Each of the performers, who come from throughout the Southland, will perform on the ice for about 1.5 minutes, Stein said. They will have a half-hour to warm up.

Everyone who competes will receive two free tickets to see ``Disney On Ice: The Little Mermaid,'' Stein said. The winner, who is judged by ``Disney On Ice'' cast characters, will receive six VIP complimentary tickets to tonight's performance at the Arrowhead Pond, a backstage tour, an autographed photo and spotlight recognition before thousands of spectators.
