`LUCY' THEME COMPOSER DANIEL DIES.

Musician Eliot Daniel, known for writing the theme music for ``I Love Lucy I Love Lucy is a television situation comedy, starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, also featuring Vivian Vance and William Frawley. The series originally ran from October 15, 1951, to May 6, 1957, on CBS (181 episodes, including the "lost" Christmas episode and original ,'' has died of lung cancer lung cancer, cancer that originates in the tissues of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States in both men and women. Like other cancers, lung cancer occurs after repeated insults to the genetic material of the cell. . Born in Boston on Jan. 7, 1908, Daniel graduated from Harvard University's Latin School and ran his own orchestra. He later moved to the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Daniel composed scores for the movie industry, including ``Lavender Blue,'' ``So Dear to My Heart'' and ``Never.'' He was also the pianist in ``Funny Girl.''

His career spanned from the ``Rudy Vallee Fleischmann Hour'' to various Bob Hope specials in the '30s and '40s.

He worked for Disney Studios in the '40s, 20th Century-Fox in the '50s, later free-lancing at Paramount and Columbia, RKO RKO Radio Keith Orpheum (movie studio)

The accomplished musician coached singing to several celebrities, including Marilyn Monroe and Clint Eastwood, Abercrombie said.

He was also a former president for the local 47 American Federation of Musicians The American Federation of Musicians (AFM/AFofM) is a labor union of professional musicians in the United States and Canada.

He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Jessen-Ley, 52, of Albany, Ore.; and Dee Dee Daniel, 50, of Studio City.

The Neptune Society of Northern California is handling arrangements. A private service will be held.
