`JUSTICE' FOR LOCAL CRIME FIGHTER.

Crime doesn't pay, and fighting crime may just get you on the Discovery Channel.

It worked for local amateur crime fighter Mary Lou Holte, who has made it her business to clean up her corner of the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Holte will be profiled at 10 tonight on the Discovery Channel in a segment of ``Justice Files.''

This won't be her first step into the media spotlight Spotlight can refer to at least three types of lighting:

. Holte, 50, of Van Nuys, was featured on ABC's ``20/20'' and in the Wall Street Journal for her work in 1993.

Since she began her personal crusade against crime, Holte says she's helped shut down a business that had become a drug dealers' hangout hang·out
