SHINER, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2003

The Spoetzl Brewery is excited to introduce its newest beer, Shiner Light, which was proudly endorsed by citizens of Shiner, Texas. Residents of the Brewery's hometown were given a sneak preview of the beer earlier this summer at a citywide New Brew Fest. They gave the unique, deep amber, full-flavored Shiner Light their overwhelming approval, with many appreciative Shinerites declaring, "It's about damn time!" The Spoetzl Brewery took several years to perfect Shiner Light before conducting the taste test with their most loyal and critical fans, and the beer should certainly become a new favorite across Texas.

Shiner Light will be available only in Texas. It will debut with the general public at the 10th Annual Shiner Bocktoberfest Concert in Shiner, Texas, on Oct. 18th, and will be in retail outlets and local watering holes on the following Monday. This flavorful amber brew will be offered in six packs, twelve packs and draught, and the bottles will bear the signatures of Shiner citizens who gave their personal approval to Shiner Light.

Shiner Light contains choice Munich malt and select hops and is brewed using traditional methods that create a deep amber color and smooth taste. Brewed in small batches, Shiner Light is lower in calories, but has the rich, full-bodied flavor beer drinkers have come to expect from Shiner.

The making of Shiner Light was such a unique and important event that an independent film producer has turned it into a documentary. The film, titled "Something's Brewin' in Shiner," will be shown at film festivals across the country.
