 drama students will perform ``The Importance of Being Earnest,'' Oscar Wilde's turn-of-the-century farce about love, misunderstandings in relationships, and imaginary people, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the campus theater, 39055 25th St. W.

Tickets purchased by Thursday are $4 general admission, $3 for senior citizens, children under 12, students with Associated Student Body cards, and high school Thespian club members, said drama publicity volunteer Brenda Bouche.

The cast comprises Eric Zammora, Tony Hanford, Jonathan Vaughn, Eric Nathenson, Sean Menzono, Nicki Luman, Cynthia Broone, Leslie Greenleaf, Traci King and Amy Cole.

The students have been working on the production since September, rehearsing daily during drama class and after school, Bouche said.

PALMDALE - Fifteen bands and their auxiliary units The Auxiliary Units (or Auxunits) were specially trained highly secret units created with the aim of resisting the expected invasion of the British Isles by Nazi Germany during World War II.  participated in the Palmdale High School Falcon Pageantry Corps's 17th annual field show tournament.

In the band category, first-place winners in groups based on school size were Servite, Jurupa Valley, Canyon and Valencia high schools. In the color guard competition, first-place winners were Valencia, Canyon, Jurupa Valley and Sultana. Second-place finishers were Antelope Valley, Highland, Jurupa Valley and Hesperia. Third-place finishers were Quartz Hill and Carpinteria, and Carpinteria was awarded a fourth-place finish.

In the drill team competition, Servite took the Sweepstakes award, Quartz Hill finished first and Sultana finished second.

In the specialty percussion competition, Quartz Hill took the Sweepstakes award, Valencia took first place, Antelope Valley second place and Oxnard third place.

Among other specialty awards, Valencia was recognized for special effects special effects, in motion pictures, cinematographic techniques that create illusions in the audience's minds as well as the illusions created using these techniques. ; Oxnard for marching and maneuvering, color guard skills and a special sweepstakes award, and Burroughs for music.

Palmdale High band boosters thanked a long list of tournament sponsors, said band booster President Dan Lintemoot.
