`Home Fries' Arrives On Video and DVD, March 30; Stars Hollywood's Hottest, Young Actress Drew Barrymore; Free DVD Consumer Offer.


BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Jan. 20, 1999--Drew Barrymore, star of "The Wedding Singer," "Ever After" and "Scream" "will steal your heart(a)" in the critically acclaimed, off-center romantic comedy "Home Fries."

Also starring Catherine O'Hara ("Home Alone"), Luke Wilson ("Scream 2") and Jake Busey ("Starship Troopers"), "Home Fries" arrives on VHS (Video Home System) A half-inch, analog videocassette recorder (VCR) format introduced by JVC in 1976 to compete with Sony's Betamax, introduced a year earlier.  and DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

Little known to Sally (Barrymore), a sunny, level-headed local drive-through order taker, she has become the center of a twisted scheme orchestrated by her former lover's wife, Mrs. Lever (O'Hara) and her two sons Dorian (Wilson) and Angus (Busey). Dorian, who is sent to infiltrate Sally's workplace, realizes that the closer he gets to Sally, the more he doesn't want to kill her; he'd rather marry her instead.

Directed by Academy Award-winner Dean Parisot and produced by Academy Award-winners Mark Johnson and Barry Levinson, "Home Fries" is available from Warner Home Video, a Time Warner Entertainment company, for rental on video and available on DVD for a suggested retail price of $19.98 (both, catalogue No. 15169).

The VHS has an approximate running time of 94 minutes, and the DVD a running time of 98 minutes.
