`FAMILY FUN NIGHT' SET FOR BERYLWOOD : SIMI SCHOOLS TO END YEAR WITH FESTIVE TOUCH.

Berylwood Elementary PTA PTA or parent-teacher association: see parent education.  will host a ``Family Fun Night'' Wednesday in the school quad.

The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Dinner costs $1.50 and includes hot dogs, chips, sodas and cookies. Yearbooks also will be available at $8 a pop, filled with memories of the school year. Bring your pens and have your friends sign the yearbook. PTA will be providing entertainment and activities. Bring a blanket or chairs and come and join us for an evening of fun.

Crestview Elementary PTA would like to thank the staff, principal and all the volunteers for their support and work this year.

Katherine Elementary PTA will be hosting its end-of-the-year pancake pancake, thin, flat cake, made of batter and baked on a griddle or fried in a pan. Pancakes, probably the oldest form of bread, are known in different forms throughout the world.  breakfast at 7 a.m. Thursday, serving pancakes, eggs and fruit. Firefighters - both A and B shift - from Station 43 will cook breakfast for the students. The cost of the breakfast is 75 cents.

Katherine students will make buttons at breakfast and lunch. The buttons can be for Father's Day, graduation or farewell gifts for friends or family. Buttons cost 50 cents to make.

DARE graduates were treated to red and black licorice licorice (lĭk`ərĭs, –rĭsh), name for a European plant (Glycyrrhiza glabra) of the family Leguminosae (pulse family) and for the sweet substance obtained from the root.  at their ceremony June 5. Congratulations to essay winners Dominique Narsico, Jack Stephens, Princess Alacazar and Travis Dobbins.

Congratulations to PTA President Debbie Dobbins Debbie Dobbins (October 28, 1963-December 31, 1993) was a popular fitness competitor and fitness model during the early 1990s. Biography
Dobbins was born in Olongapo, Philippines, of half Irish and half Filipino descent.
 for receiving Simi Council's Nine Carrot Award for having reached the highest number of points for presidents and their units. Katherine Elementary also received Membership, Treasurer, Historian, Newsletter and Advocates for Children awards.

Katherine PTA would like to say goodbye to Principal Phil Ross. We will miss him and want to thank him for all he has done for the students at Katherine.

The Culmination Ceremony for Katherine sixth-graders will be held at 9 a.m. Monday. Refreshments re·fresh·ment

Hollow Hills Elementary students in Sandy Nash's fourth-grade class are going to meet their e-mail pen pals Pen Pals or penpals may refer to:
  • "Pen Pals" (TNG episode), a second season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation first broadcast on May 1, 1989
  • Penpals, people who regularly write to each other
  • Penpals (band), a band from Japan
 next week. They have been corresponding with students at Madrona Elementary in Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  during the past school year.

Students will learn about the technology that makes the hook-up possible before it is completed. This learning session is scheduled from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Then eager students will have the chance to meet and speak with their pen pals from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
