, saying yucky stuff like ``would you be mine'' and ``sunny day, sweeping the clouds away.'' Anyone who's watched ``Sesame Street'' knows this lovable Grouch isn't being himself.

In ``Elmo's Coloring Book,'' the newest ``Sesame Street Sesame Street is an American educational children's television series for preschoolers and is a pioneer of the contemporary educational television standard, combining both education and entertainment.  Live'' production, Big Bird, Cookie Monster (recreation) cookie monster - (From the children's TV program "Sesame Street") Any of a family of early (1970s) hacks reported on TOPS-10, ITS, Multics and elsewhere that would lock up either the victim's terminal (on a time-sharing machine) or the console (on a batch mainframe), , Bert and Ernie Bert and Ernie are two Muppets on the long-running PBS children's television show Sesame Street. The two appear together in numerous skits, forming a comic duo that is one of the centerpieces of the program. , and the Muppets travel through Elmo's coloring book with Professor Art and his magic machine. Along the way, colors start disappearing from the scenes they visit. But in true Muppet spirit, the life-size characters sing and dance their blues away in a foot-stomping, hand-clapping, hee-hawing, interactive 90 minutes of fun and learning.

A hallmark of ``Sesame Street'' has always been the payoff for the parents who are watching. So when the Muppets break out into ``Sing a Song,'' parents will instantly recognize this la-la-la-la-la classic by the Carpenters. The Palettes (a red, blue and yellow singing group) add to the merriment and learning with a musical lesson in primary colors those developed from the solar beam by the prism, viz., red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, which are reduced by some authors to three, - red, green, and violet-blue. These three are sometimes called fundamental colors.

From polka to rap, all styles of music keep the show moving along. Cookie Monster steps into the blue spotlight and croons ``Fuzzy and Blue,'' doing his best Louis Armstrong imitation.

A flamenco tune just minutes before last weekend's performance at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium had the crowd clapping and parents and small children dancing in the aisles. The show moves at a fast clip, with a well-timed intermission, lots of movement and song, and an especially enjoyable segment with dancing dinosaur bones.
