`DREAM COME TRUE' THRILLS MUSKETEERS.

Byline: Dave Desmond Daily News Staff Writer

Until last season, Moorpark High School's girls' basketball team had never advanced beyond the first round of the Southern Section playoffs.

So, please pardon the emotion displayed by players and coaches Wednesday night after their 52-42 victory over Dominguez vaulted the Musketeers into tonight's Division II-A championship game.

``This is a dream come true,'' said senior guard Tracey Milburn, whose unseeded team will meet top-ranked Brea-Olinda High School at 6:15 p.m. at the Long Beach Pyramid.

It will mark the first time Moorpark has sent any of its boys' or girls' teams to a Southern Section final.

``I can't even describe how this feels,'' sophomore forward Damaris Hinojosa said.

Brea-Olinda (25-3) has been characterized by area coaches as a basketball factory, and the LadyCats have built an unparalleled dynasty An application development system for enterprise client/server environments from Dynasty Technologies, Inc., Houston, TX (www.dynasty.com). They are seeking their ninth consecutive division championship and have been rated as high as fifth this season in various national polls. In 1993, Brea-Olinda won the national championship.

All-Southern Section players Marissa Bradley and Jennifer Saari are the heart of a program that traditionally draws in excess of 2,000 green-clad LadyCat fans to the Pyramid each year.

Moorpark will answer with senior guard Milburn, who has been on fire through the playoffs. She has averaged 22.3 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in her last three games.

With Milburn on the bench in foul trouble Wednesday, Hinojosa sparked a 15-4 fourth-quarter run against Dominguez, which resulted in the come-from-behind victory. She finished with 23 points, 16 rebounds, 11 steals and six blocked shots.

Win or lose tonight, the Musketeers already can claim a remarkable ride.
