Ms. Allen and the others were honored for their work promoting health care for the disadvantaged. Besides her hospital work, he said, Ms. Allen, a wife, mother and new grandmother, advocates for youth in the court system, and for others in need of assistance, including Our Father's House in Fitchburg, Boys and Girls boys and girls mercurialisannua. When asked why she spends so much of her own time helping others, Ms. Allen simply said: "I never ask why I do this - I usually ask why others don't.
