`CELEBRATING SIGNIFICANCE' BLACK HISTORY MONTH ART ON DISPLAY.

LANCASTER - ``Celebrating Significance,'' an exhibition in recognition of Black History Month, will be on display through March 3 in the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The gallery, in the Fine Arts Quad on the southwest corner of campus, is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A public reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 24. Admission is free.

The show will feature cultural and contemporary artistic expressions. African masks from the private collection of Palmdale resident Jim Cole will be on display. Cole has acquired masks from Africa and through private collections in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. .

Several paintings and drawings from Artists Serving Humanity - inmates from the California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  State Prison-Los Angeles County in Lancaster - will be exhibited as well as the work of Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA.
