`BOY FRIEND' SPOOFS '20S COMEDIES.

Two cases of mistaken identity, a day at the beach and a masquerade ball set the scene for ``The Boy Friend,'' a musical farce about six 17-year-old girls at a finishing school on the French Riviera who want to see their boyfriends.

``The Boy Friend'' will be presented by the Desert Opera Theatre at 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday; 8 p.m. March 27 and 28; and 2 p.m. March 29 at the Palmdale Playhouse, 38334 10th St. E.

``It's a great show. It's a spoof of 1920s musical comedy,'' said director Tricia Randell. ``It's a show for everyone. The kids can go see it. It will make everyone laugh.''

The cast comprises 25 singers and dancers.

``It's quite a dance show. We have a whole bunch of really good dancers and singers in it,'' Randell said. ``The dancing will knock people's socks off.''

Randell, a 10-year Palmdale resident, is no stranger to the Antelope Valley theater scene. She received a Shining Star award for her portrayal of the lead character in ``Annie Get Your Gun.''

General admission is $12; $10 for seniors, students and military; and $8 for children 12 and under.

Box office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The box office opens two hours before ticketed events.
