`A GOOD PLACE TO COME TO'; KTLA FESTIVAL HOSTS KIDS.

The merry-go-round was full, the zoo was free and everyone was walking around with bags of complimentary stuff Saturday as KTLA KTLA KCBS TV in Los Angeles  Kids Day L.A. drew nearly four times as many children and parents as last year's event.

Organizers say the Griffith Park Griffith Park is a large public park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It is situated in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The park covers 4,210 acres (17 km²) of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America.  festival lured about 80,000 visitors. Last year's Kid's Day L.A. drew between 20,000 and 25,000 guests.

Founded in 1997, they are one of the 8 original WNBA teams and were one of the teams that participated in the league's inaugural game.  forward Daedra Charles.

After throwing up a few air balls, then redeeming himself with a bounce pass to Woolridge for the game-winning dunk, Riordan praised the 300 volunteers who helped with the event.

``It shows that when people work together and get the message out, things can happen,'' Riordan said. ``There's a lot to do in this city, but we have to make it happen.''

The festival offered kids arts and crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. The term was coined in England in the late 19th cent. as a label for the then-current movement directed toward the revivifying of the decorative arts. , sporting events, and ``celebrity'' guests ranging from actor William Shatner to Smokey Bear and Happy, the dog from ``Seventh Heaven.''

After two hours at the festival, 10-year-old Johnathan Leitheiser of Northridge had a plastic bag brimming with free T-shirts, stickers and autographed photos. He and his brother and sister were headed to the Los Angeles Zoo The Los Angeles Zoo founded in 1966, is a large zoo located in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The Zoo, located in Los Angeles' Griffith Park, is home to 1,200 animals from around the world.
, where admission was free for kids with a paid adult.

``It's a good place to come to,'' Leitheiser said. ``I'd rather be here in the park than at home watching TV.''
