``Toy Story 2'' Trailer Set for Exclusive Oct. 1 Premiere On Disney and Apple Web Sites.


BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1999--

An exclusive first-look at "Toy Story 2" will be presented on Oct. 1 with the premiere of the new theatrical trailer on the official Disney (www.toystory2.com) and Apple (www.apple.com) Web sites, it was announced today (9/30) by Richard Cook

The trailer, which runs 2 minutes, 18 seconds and includes the first footage from the film to be publicly screened, will have a one-week exclusive engagement on the Web before making its debut in theaters on Oct. 8. A Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios Film, "Toy Story 2" is set to open in theaters on Nov. 24.

The film was directed by Academy Award(R)-winner John Lasseter John Alan Lasseter (born January 12, 1957) is an Academy Award-winning American animator and the chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios. He is also currently the Principal Creative Advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering.  and co-directed by Lee Unkrich and Ash Brannon. Commenting on the announcement, Cook said, "What better way to introduce the new trailer for a computer-animated feature than on the computer. This is a terrific way to give fans around the world a first look at 'Toy Story 2.' "Toy Story 2" picks up as Andy heads off to Cowboy Camp leaving his toys to their own devices. Things shift into high gear when an obsessive toy collector named Al McWhiggin (owner of Al's Toy Barn) kidnaps Woody.

At Al's apartment, Woody discovers that he is a highly valued collectible from a 1950s TV show called "Woody's Roundup," and he meets the other prized toys from that show -- Jessie the cowgirl, Bullseye An established reference point from which the position of an object can be referenced. Back at the scene of the crime, Buzz Lightyear and the gang from Andy's room -- Mr. Potato Head Mr. Potato Head is a popular children's doll, consisting of a plastic model of a potato.
