``The Sixth Sense'' Becomes the Tenth Highest Grossing Film of All Time.

Hollywood Pictures/Spyglass Entertainment's blockbuster psychological thriller Psychological thriller is a specific sub-genre of the wide-ranging thriller genre. However, this genre often incorporates elements from the mystery genre in addition to the typical traits of the thriller genre. , "The Sixth Sense," added a new milestone over the weekend (3/24-26) as it became the 10th top-grossing domestic film of all time, it was announced today by Richard Cook

With its extraordinary domestic gross to date of $290.3 million, "The Sixth Sense" has now surpassed "The Empire Strikes Back" ($290,271,960) to secure the No. 10 spot on the list of all-time top-grossing domestic films. Earlier this month, the film had moved ahead of "Home Alone" ($285.8 million) to nab eleventh place on the box office charts.

In addition to its enormously successful domestic performance, "The Sixth Sense" continues to be a major blockbuster in the international markets. Its overseas gross-to-date has already reached a phenomenal $353.4 million and the film currently ranks as the seventh biggest international release of all time and the ninth biggest combined gross of all time. The worldwide gross to date is $643.7 million.
