``The Rising Place'' Wins $50,000 Grand Prize At the Heartland Film Festival.

Fisher was born in Milford on Sea, Hampshire, England, daughter of Olga (née Moen), a homemaker, and William I. "Bill" Fisher, Sr.

The award was presented on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Crystal Heart Gala by Paige Thompson, Senior Vice President General Cinema Corporation, in Indianapolis.

"The Rising Place" was selected as the Grand Prize-winner based on its adherence to the Heartland Film Festival's statement of purpose: "To recognize and honor filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life."
