"The Morning After" - Charlotte County, Florida Satellite News
Conference to Counter Post-Hurricane Debris Images as Leading Natural
Tourism Site, Largely Untouched, Gears for Winter of New Growth
October

Network news outlets were quick to broadcast photos of demolished
structures during storms like Hurricane Charley, that struck parts of
Charlotte County on Friday the 13th last August. Like the storms, the
cameras were gone later that week, leaving people with vivid images of
destruction.

While the storm's eye indeed caused destruction, it's narrow path
left untouched much of what is one of the nation's unique water
ecosystems in Charlotte County. In fact, it has had an incredibly
positive effect on some aspects of the environment and made the winter
new growth season uniquely appealing.

What: The Charlotte County Visitor's Bureau will conduct a
30-minute satellite news conference to review the
current tourism status of this nature-based destination at
10 a.m. Thursday, October 21, complete with new video
photography of the area as well as streaming video
            content.

A panel of local experts will present up to date
information and insights and answer questions on Charlotte
Harbor's ecology, fishing and wildlife and recovery
efforts in this popular winter tourism destination.

            webcast
