At the first annual DVD Festival 2000 Awards, "The Matrix" DVD garnered three honors. A 16-member panel composed of home entertainment journalists from publications such as Entertainment Weekly, The Chicago Tribune and Daily Variety selected the DVD for Best Supplementary Material Presentation, Best Use of DVD-ROM DVD-ROM: see digital versatile disc.
