BioTechnologies' First Warning(TM) system into the spotlight.

Dr. Emily Senay reported on the latest advances and explained the ability of the First Warning technology to determine breast cancer risk in women at much earlier stages than current methods.

This breakthrough technology developed by Lifeline BioTechnologies has demonstrated in early clinical trials the diagnostic ability to detect breast cancer three to five years earlier than currently available techniques such as mammography mammography, diagnostic procedure that uses low-dose X rays to detect abnormalities in the breasts. The early diagnosis of breast cancer made possible by the routine use of mammography for screening women increases a woman's treatment alternatives and improves her .

test known as First Warning demonstrates great promise in detecting formation of extremely early-stage breast lesions, particularly in younger women. Thanks in part to new detection technology like this, modern breast cancer survival rates continue to improve.

No practical noninvasive high-risk marker exists today that can effectively cope with the problem of breast cancer. Although early detection and prompt treatment are the stock phrases that epitomize current efforts toward the clinical control and cure of breast cancer, unfortunately there is no method available to the medical community that can fulfill ful·fill also ful·fil

Presently, the medical community cannot identify women at the highest risk for breast cancer development by noninvasive physiological grading.

First Warning may be the only product under development that can fill this niche economically and practically. With classic risk factors, such as family history and age at first full-term pregnancy, found in only 20 percent of the patients diagnosed with breast cancer, the number of women who go undetected is large.

Alarming statistics indicate that 80 percent of all women who eventually develop breast cancer had no warning whatsoever that they were at risk and 45 percent of those affected in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. Lifeline BioTechnologies is working at reducing these numbers with the First Warning system.
