``T: Design'' Magazine Sees 38% Increase in Ad Pages.

 -- The New York Times Magazine announced today that its upcoming first issue of "T: Design" has a total of 89 advertising pages, a 38% increase over its "Part 2-Home Design" predecessor publication for the same year-ago period. "The advertising performance of the new collection of 'T' magazines is outstanding," said Jyll Holzman, senior vice president for advertising, The New York Times. "'T' attracts a mix of advertisers in categories ranging from fashion to jewelry to home furnishings to automotive and more, which illustrates its ability to deliver a powerful marketing environment for companies."

"T: The New York Times Style Magazine" is a new collection of magazines that showcases stylish living today and features the latest trends in men's and women's fashion, design and entertaining. "T" is published eight times per year as a complement to The New York Times Magazine and replaces The Magazine's "Part 2" publications. Journalists contributing to the pages of "T" include Suzy Menkes Suzy Menkes (born 24 December 1943) has been head fashion reporter for the International Herald Tribune since 1988.

Menkes was born in Britain. She was educated at Brighton and Hove High School. In the 1960s, she went as a teenager to Paris to study dressmaking.

"T" is a family of four magazines, each published twice per year, and includes:

--"T: Women's Fashion" (first published on Aug. 29, 2004), which sorts and selects the hottest new signature pieces and trends in women's fashion. "T: Women's Fashion" replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Women's Fashions of The Times" publication.

--"T: Men's Fashion" (first published on Sept. 19, 2004), which offers a tailored roundup of the best looks, trends and personalities in men's fashion. "T: Men's Fashion" replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Men's Fashions of The Times" publication.

--"T: Design," which will reveal how and where the lines in home design now cross and diverge in architecture, decor and home furnishings. "T: Design" will be published on Oct. 10 and replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Home Design" publication.

--"T: Living," which will feature lifestyle and entertaining trends and report on the latest in food, wine, tabletop, kitchens, bathrooms and more. "T: Living," edited by Amanda Hesser, will be published on Nov. 7 and replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Style & Entertaining" publication.

Beginning in 2005, "The Sophisticated Traveler" will join the "T" magazine collection and will continue to report on exotic travel destinations around the world.

Each issue of "T" will contain insightful feature articles, compelling photography and news columns such as:

--"The Talk" - a commentary on the latest jargon being used in the English language English language, member of the West Germanic group of the Germanic subfamily of the Indo-European family of languages (see Germanic languages). The covers of "T" are being shot by distinguished photographers to convey the magazine's vision and essence in a creative and exciting manner. Photographer Raymond Meier is shooting the cover photography for all "T" 2004 debut issues.
