Music industry veterans Jerry Brenner (Chief Executive Officer, The Jerry Brenner Group) and entertainment attorney Albie Cullen have announced the formation of a new Internet record and music promotion company, SportsSound, Inc., and that SportsLine USA, Inc., (Nasdaq:SPLN), publisher of CBS SportsLine (http://cbs.sportsline.com), has acquired a minority interest in SportsSound.

SportsSound will produce proprietary compilations which will be available exclusively over the Internet through The Sports Store (www.TheSportsStore.com), SportsLine's primary e-commerce area. The Sports Store is also available to America Online (NYSE:AOL) members at Keyword: The Sports Store. SportsSound's recordings will also be available at www.sportssound.com.

"Sports fans are music fans and music fans are sports fans, so this alliance seemed like a natural for both SportsLine and SportsSound," stated Jerry Brenner. In addition, the record division of SportsSound will produce unique musical compilations paying tribute to individual athletes, teams, and sporting events."

The first such compilation, featuring the greatest swing music of yesterday, today and tomorrow, is titled "The Perfect Swing," a tribute to baseball's greatest living hitter, former Boston Red Sox great and baseball legend, Ted Williams, with an introduction and closing by the Splendid Splinter himself. Musical performances include today's biggest swing songs, "You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, "Zoot Suit Riot" by Cherry Poppin' Daddies and "Jump, Jive an' Wail" by Billy and the Boozers.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy first rose to mainstream prominence after appearing in the 1996 film success, "Swingers." Since that time BBVD has performed its chart topping smash, "You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3" while touring the country and at a special half-time appearance at Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami.

Likewise the Cherry Poppin' Daddies track "Zoot Suit Riot" has sold over one million copies to date, a direct result of the band's consistent touring and appearances on the "Tonight Show" and "Late Night With David Letterman" show.

"Jump, Jive an' Wail" is a swing classic that was re-introduced during a major television ad campaign, topping the radio and club charts in 1998.

In addition to the bands and songs which have re-introduced swing to American radio and culture, "The Perfect Swing" also contains tracks from legendary swing artists Ella Fitzgerald and Chick Webb "Sing Me A Swing Song (and Let Me Dance"); Louis Jordan "Nobody Here But Us Chickens"; and Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon "Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy."

"The Perfect Swing" also includes up-and-coming artists Bellevue Cadillac ("Prozac," "Black and White,") Four Piece Suit ("Dave's Happy Place," "Go Ahead and Burn") and Entrain ("Dancin' In the Light"). Bellevue Cadillac first received national attention after turning down an appearance at John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s wedding. The band tours nationally and is currently negotiating a major label record deal. Likewise Four Piece Suit has just released its second independent record. Entrain hails from Martha's Vineyard, tours extensively throughout the U.S. and has been deemed "President Clinton's favorite band."

SportsSound will be releasing six proprietary compilations per year comprised of contemporary popular music tracks, with themes that correspond with the coinciding sports season. SportsSound plans to release a compilation "Tailgate `99" prior to the start of the football season. SportsSound is also presently working on a "Perfect Swing II" which will feature all classic swing tracks from the forties and will pay tribute to a great American golfer. SportsSound anticipates releasing this compilation in conjunction with The Ryder Cup.
