``Southern California Living'' Features Daily Kids' Page; The Kids' Reading Room is Designed to Pique Interest of Young Readers and Parents.


LOS LOS Length of stay, see there  ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1998--The Kids' Reading Room, a new, full page of features for children, appears daily, six days a week in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Living, the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Times' new feature section that launched on Nov. 1.

The Kids' Reading Room -- part of The Times' Reading by 9 literacy project -- is designed to help children build reading skills and have fun at the same time. The centerpiece of the page is a six-part serialized story, that older children can read themselves and younger children will want read to them. Each story starts on Sunday and concludes on Friday and will include an illustration that children can color.

The Kids' Reading Room also includes news and features for kids, Pint-Sized Laugh Lines, as well as puzzles and interactive games. Garfield will move from the comics page The comics page of a daily newspaper is a page largely or entirely devoted to comic strips. Other features that frequently appear on the comics page are crossword puzzles and horoscopes. Other special pages in newspapers include the sports page and the society page.  to this page.
