Sponsored by the Port of Los Angeles The Port of Los Angeles is located on San Pedro Bay in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles, approximately 20 miles (30 km) south of downtown. Also called Los Angeles Harbor and WORLDPORT LA and San Pedro Art Association, "Portraits" aims to capture the many beautiful facets of one of the world's busiest harbors through the eyes of local artists. There is no entry fee, and artists may submit up to three works with scenes or impressions of the Port of Los Angeles. Accepted media are oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, drawings and photographs. Entries will be accepted Thursday, July 14th through Sunday, July 17, from 1-5 p.m. each day, at the Gallery at 366 W. 7th Street, San Pedro. The "Portraits" grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 purchase prize, and the Port will put the winning work on permanent display. In addition, jurors will recognize other worthy entries for exhibition and publication.
