On August 5, 2003, Capitol Records Capitol Records is a major United States-based record label, owned by EMI, located in Hollywood, California. Its headquarters building, the Capitol Tower, is a major landmark near the corner of Hollywood and Vine.  will release "Poison: The Best of Ballads and Blues." The 16-track collection focuses on the emotive "back to basic" blues and ballads that laid bare to Poison fans long before "Behind The Music" style confessionals, the hard truths about life, death, love, heartache and friendship within the world of a superstar rock n' roll band.

The "Best of Ballads and Blues" compiles both the band's music and Michaels' raw and emotional lyrics that have stood the test of time, like the heart-wrenching lament "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and the inspirational "Something To Believe In" that have gone on to become anthems to all fans of music.

"Best of Ballads and Blues" also contains two unreleased versions of the Poison hits "Stand" (acoustic version) and "Something To Believe In" (acoustic version), which features Bret Michaels' new lyrics focusing on today's societal issues.
