``My Dog Skip'' Scores With Audiences; Warner Bros. Pictures Opens Film Nationwide on March 3.

BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Jan. 28, 2000

&uot;My Dog Skip,&uot; Warner Bros. Pictures' and Alcon Entertainment's acclaimed coming-of-age story, has scored with audiences in its limited opening, prompting the studio to institute a national release on March 3 in approximately 1,800 theaters throughout the United States and Canada.

The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, president of Domestic Distribution for Warner Bros. Pictures.

&uot;This movie has connected with audiences in a very personal way,&uot; Fellman said. &uot;We are delighted, but not surprised, by the tremendous word-of-mouth that has made it so successful in limited release, and we look forward to bringing it to a whole new audience.&uot;

&uot;What is interesting about the film is its appeal to families,&uot; said Alcon's co-presidents, Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson. &uot;It is a rare movie that can bring out the family as a unit, and that is what `My Dog Skip' is doing.&uot;

&uot;My Dog Skip&uot; tells a funny, heartfelt story about a unique friendship between an 8-year-old boy and his dog, based on the best-selling childhood memoir by award-winning author Willie Morris. The film stars Frankie Muniz, star of the acclaimed Fox television hit, &uot;Malcolm in the Middle,&uot; as well as Kevin Bacon (&uot;Stir Of Echoes), Diane Lane (&uot;The Perfect Storm&uot;) and Luke Wilson (&uot;Home Fries&uot;).

Directed by Jay Russell from screenwriter Gail Gilchriest's adaptation of the novel by Willie Morris, &uot;My Dog Skip&uot; is financed by Alcon Entertainment. The producers are Academy Award-winner Mark Johnson, John Lee Hancock and Alcon's co-presidents, Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson. The executive producers are Marty Ewing and Jay Russell. The director of photography is James Carter. The production designer is David Bomba. The costume designer is Edi Giguere. The editors are Harvey Rosenstock, A.C.E., and Gary Winter, and the musical score is composed by William Ross. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing &uot;My Dog Skip&uot; worldwide.
