In a pressroom heavy with the tension and sweat of jaded electronics reporters, Multimedia 2000 (http://www.m-2k.com/) electrified the crowd with their announcement of the release of Shadoan, the latest masterwork by industry pioneer Rick Dyer.

Shadoan, considered the best of the current crop of DVD games, was acclaimed by Cinescape Magazine as a "cross between...Walt Disney, George Lucas and J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings." They could have compared it to several other highly profitable fantasy franchises -- for example, Pokemon -- but they did not, to our knowledge. We speculate groundlessly that these comparisons were omitted by Cinescape for space reasons.

Shadoan is an action-packed animated adventure game in which the hero, Lathan Kandor, must reassemble an ancient amulet, defeat the evil wizard Torloc, and reunite with the beautiful Princess Grace. Over 300 animators worked to produce the 70,000 hand-painted, feature-film-quality cels used in the game, creating the mysterious and magical land of Shadoan. The title features a number of industry firsts, including being the first video game in history to be mixed in DTS Digital Surround 5.1(TM), the same process used in the blockbuster film Titanic. This combination of visual inventiveness, theater-quality sound, and overall fun and excitement makes Shadoan a unique and exciting gaming experience.

Dyer created Shadoan as an antidote the current, controversial rash of super-violent, first-person shooter and fighting-style video games. Shadoan has been recommended by the Parent's Choice Foundation, was named "Best Children's Game" by the CD-I Association, and was recommended by Computer Game Review for its "rare appeal to the female audience."
