In an interview with Ebner, Shapiro divulged that "Battlefield Earth"'s star John Travolta called the first draft of the film "the 'Schindler's List' of science fiction." Ebner responded, "Does that mean that Travolta thought it was the feel-good movie about Man-Animals?"

The spirited banter continued until Raspberry founder Wilson presented the handmade statuette, street value $2.49, to Shapiro. Shapiro, whose credits also include the film "Robin Hood Robin Hood, legendary hero of 12th-century England who robbed the rich to help the poor. Chivalrous, manly, fair, and always ready for a joke, Robin Hood reflected many of the ideals of the English yeoman. : Men in Tights," thanked the foundation and his co-writer, Corey Mandel, for keeping his name off the final credits.
