[2] Prudential Offers Auto Rate Quotes Via its Web Site.


HOLMDEL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1999--

Beginning today, consumers in five states can get instant car insurance price quotes when they log onto Prudential's Internet home page (www.prudential Prudential is the name of two different companies and buildings named after them:

  • Prudential plc is a United Kingdom-based financial services company.
  • Prudential Financial, Inc.

Shoppers in Arizona, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio and Virginia can get a price quote from Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company (PRUPAC) by submitting an application that takes about 15 minutes to be completed. If satisfied, a shopper may either call a toll-free number to purchase a policy, or take the rate quote to a local Prudential agency and meet with an agent.

Earlier this year, PRUPAC began offering on-line quotes with a 24- hour turnaround Turnaround
