BACKGROUND: For the first time since 1996, influential American
artists and sculptors such as Hogue, Coleman, and
                DeShazo, will appear together from 6 - 9 P.M.
Saturday, July 1, at Wyland Galleries, 855 W. Harbor
Dr., Suite A, in Seaport Village, 619/544-9995.

"This is a milestone event," said Wyland, who is best
known for his landmark murals of sea life around the
world. "The artists in this show are incredibly
talented, and they have done a tremendous job in
raising awareness about the beauty around us. It's
extremely rare to have them all in person, in one
                place."

The complete lineup includes Coleman, DeShazo, Hanson,
Hogue, Mackin, Maiden, Warren, and a brief appearance
by Wyland. The public is invited to view the works of
these celebrated artists -- some of which have sold to
private collectors for as much as $150,000 apiece. The
artists will be available for photo opportunities and
                media interviews.

New releases from DeShazo, Warren, and Wyland will be
introduced. DeShazo, whose works have appeared in Life
                Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and Architectural
Digest, will release three new giclees, among them his
highly anticipated work, "High Sierra." Warren carries
on his surrealist tradition with 16 new giclees on
canvas. Wyland's new giclee on canvas, "Warm Tropical
Waters," depicts the fantastic sea life among the
                Florida Keys.

On display throughout the show will be original oils,
                sculptures and watercolors, limited-edition
lithographs, cibachromes, and giclees. For more
