), and Air2Web announced today that they will join forces to deliver severe weather alerts via digital cell phones and alphanumeric pagers to TWC viewers and users of weather.com, the Web site of The Weather Channel.

Using Air2Web's leading wireless platform, The Weather Channel is able to send out "severe weather alerts" to subscribers' cell phones and pagers alerting them to dangerous weather conditions such as tornadoes and floods. The alerts will let them know how long the storm warning is in effect, as well as the location of the storm. This service will be offered at no charge to subscribers. New users can sign up for these alerts beginning July 27.
